Dr. Michael E. deSa - Michael is the Founder of Edrich LLC. Prior to 2005 Michael spent over twenty-five years in various senior management roles at Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Citigroup in various locations around the world including Latin America and Asia. Michael was the Merrill Lynch Global Co-Head of Fixed Income Division, CEO of Deutsche Bank's Asian Investment Bank, Global Chief Operating Officer of Deutsche Asset Management and a Senior Managing Director at Citigroup. He has a recognized history of successful investment banking transactions and principal investing.
Michael was a member of the of the Merrill Lynch Investment Bank senior management committee, a member of the Operating Board of Directors (Bereischvorstand Member) of Deutsche Bank and a Senior member at Citigroup. He has served on executive committees at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, The Bank of England and the Bond Markets Association of America. Michael graduated with his doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve University, a Masters in Economic History from Florida International University and completed the Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has authored key research papers on energy and financials. Michael is a Trustee of CherYsh America Foundation.
Sean Engelbrecht - Located in Johannesburg, Sean is a recognized provider of asset and wealth management services to small and middle size corporates in Southern Africa. He leads the banking initiative in Africa for clients in the area of Clean Energy and Financials, advisory, debt and equity financing.
Sean graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2000 and entered the Financial Services industry in 2001. During the past two years he has worked on downstream gas distribution clients, upstream exploration clients and bio-fuels wood pellet producers exclusively with Edrich, New York. Sean travels frequently to New York with South African clients and is well versed with Wall Street.
L. Allen Smith - Allen had over twenty-five years of broad finance experience and industrial experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. Allen has worked at Citibank, Union Bank of Switzerland and Chemical (JPMorgan Chase) in America and Japan. He has held several senior management positions in the Markets Division as well as the Corporate Finance and Project Finance divisions specializing in financing of mid-market and publicly traded international corporations. Allen was a Project Engineer for Amoco Oil Company responsible for design and construction of refinery process units and power generation stations. Allen began his engineering career as an Assistant Project Engineer for Turner Construction Company.
Allen has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Kean University and New Jersey City University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and a MBA degree from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business.
Dr. Donald Chambers - Don has over twenty-eight years of broad accounting, finance, operations and sales experience including significant experience in various power generation related businesses. Don has worked with many startup and small to medium enterprises designing and executing unique go to market strategies including new product line initiatives, greenfield deployments, acquisitions, strategic allainces and strategic human resource development. Don has been responsible for client management of major international and domestic firms such as Caterpillar, Sprint PCS, United Rentals and Cummins Power Group. Throughout his career Don was responsible for raising capital and debt facilities while serving as CFO and managed service and quality functions as COO of several firms.
Don received a Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a MBA degree from the University of Georgia. Don is currently engaged in a Doctoral Program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he is researching institutional entrepreneurship and organizational behavior.
Joaquin Quirante -In his more than 25 years of international experience in capital markets and investment banking (Santander, Bank of America, StormHarbour and Argentaria, now BBVA) Joaquín has managed large, interdisciplinary and multinational teams covering most of the areas and products in the merchant banking business. He has completed numerous milestone transactions in Europe and America. He has lived and worked in Madrid, Barcelona, London, Santiago de Chile and New York
In Banco Santander Joaquin led the wholesale banking team in NY as head of Santander Global Banking and Markets, chairman of Santander Investment Securities and General Manager of Banco Santander SA, NY Branch. He led Santander’s wholesale business in USA and coordinated Latam business with Santander’s subsidiary banks in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Argentina securing deep relationships with most senior representatives in the region
Previously Joaquin served as head of Santander Global Banking and Markets in Chile based in Santiago with leadership position in advisory, DCM, ECM and PF (mainly infrastructure and energy) managing very significant deals in Chile, many of them with a cross border element (Brazil, Colombia and Peru). He served as member of the Capital Markets Advisory Board to the Minister of Finance of Chile. He joined Santander as Global Head of Debt Capital Markets in Madrid after nine years at Bank of America in London.
Joaquin holds a BA in Economics (major in Financial Markets) from Universidad Complutense (Madrid) and a MBA from IESE-Universidad de Navarra (Barcelona). He is a member of the New York Economic Club, the Council of the Americas and was in the Board of the Spain-USA Chamber of Commerce in NY.
